Whew! That was a busy one, despite the lack of any sporting activities for my children. The girls and I started off our weekend with pedicures. I wish I had a picture of our freshly painted toes, but I was too busy basking in the moment to snap any photos! Miss A chose a shimmering rainbow polish that changes color in the light, N went with a bold pink and I chose an ocean blue. Miss P talked her father into a trip to the toy store for more train tracks for her Thomas set, rather than polishing her tootsies.
Then the day finally arrived... refrigerator shopping day! I have been waiting for a new fridge for ages, and this weekend, I finally achieved a long-held dream.... All of my kitchen appliances (as of tonight between 4:45 and 6:45 p.m.) will match! It's a Samsung french door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. I'm in love. I'm so in love that I may just share a photo on the blog tomorrow. This is a Very Big Deal. It's like Christmas. Yay!
While we were spending money like it was water, we also decided to ditch the trashy college entertainment center that was holding up our expensive television. We then spent the rest of the day rearranging the living room and wondering why I never swiffer under the couch. Ewww. After all of that work, we made chili for dinner, turned on the Canadian Football League and pretended it was Fall. We've had ten days in a row of 100+ degree temps and I am sick of it.
Oh, I also read the first book in a mystery series that I had high hopes for but, as it turns out, I was not enchanted. Jim Butcher's next installment of The Dresden Files comes out tomorrow though, so I'll have a great book to dive into soon!
